San Francisco, CA –- We completed our scene for the Medi/Fetish themed feature for Titan a few minutes ago. It was an excellent shoot.
My scene partner for the production was Colton Steele. Colton had sought me out as a scene partner and we had negotiated out the scene, which included some pretty extreme play, prior to meeting in person. Luckily, we had a brief opportunity to do that at Folsom and Titan had us stay together at the studio apartment for the shoot which gave us the chance to build a connection and the trust necessary for the scene to work.
I was immediately attracted to Colton. I like shorter boys with naturally athletic builds. He has an easy smile and deep brown, expressive (sometimes pleading) eyes. He’s quite furry and very masculine in a simple, honest way. This is enhanced by his personality and attitude. He’s also young and seemed easily distractible. I really don’t understand the txt’in’ phenomenon. To Colton’s credit, when we went to dinner and I told him to put the phone away, he did. I’m glad he did, too. He’s got an interesting background and stories that reveal much about his character. I could fall for this boy.
Colton was clearly comfortable on set, too; present, focused and engaged. The connection was palpable and the scene went without a hitch. I sensed only a little nervousness regarding the fetish portion our scene. By the time we shot that on the second day, the trust was there and it was all I had hope it would be. More on that when the feature is released, I’m sure.
All in all, it was one of the easiest and most enjoyable experiences I’ve have on set. I’ve developed a wonderful working relationship with Brian Mills and Paul Wilde, the crew was exceptional and I had a great scene partner.
Civic Side Bar: My congratulations to the President-Elect, Barak Obama and to the American people for electing him to the highest office in the land. My worries regarding the draconian blow to civil rights and the American principle of equality under the law delivered by the apparent passage of Proposition 8 in California.

Seattle, WA –- All the travel the past few months had left me feeling a little under the weather and a fuck load of shit at home to deal with over the past couple weeks. It took some time but I’ve finally kicked that cold I brought back from Folsom and have caught up on just about everything on the home front. Bonus, I got a chance to spend the evening with my boy Jeff Wednesday night and he decided to stay over. It was perfect.
He’s attractive, intelligent and the time I get to spend with him is among the happiest in my life. I don’t think I can really describe how I feel about him with any success. I’ve tried but the words just don’t convey the depth and complexity. It’s as if the emotions have the physical qualities of hunger. And forgive me, but the sex with that boy is absolutely amazing.
In addition to getting some time with Jeff, Derek and I got to spend a fairly low-key weekend together over Halloween. We used the spooky holiday as an excuse to have screams emanating from my apartment in Seattle and had at least two really good scenes during his trip. One was a medical fetish scene I engineered for an upcoming Titan shoot I wanted to crash test on my favorite stunt bottom before taking it on set. The other involved some new bondage for sex rigging that utilizes a bar stool. You can check out some photos of the bar stool rigging here.
Although Jeff wasn’t able to join us, Derek and I attended a Dragon Clan dinner Saturday evening. The Dragons added a couple new members to the Clan that night, but have one more addition to make before I write about the decisions and what they represent to those of us in the family.
I’m off to the airport for that Titan shoot I mentioned now, then back to Seattle for a day before heading to Chicago this weekend. Didn’t I just go through one of these cycles?

Seattle, WA – With all the travel and events I’ve engaged in lately, I’m enjoying a little down time here at home in Seattle. I’ve been catching up on work, taking care of some much needed house-keeping, spending some time with my family and missing the two boys I’m most connected to.
The training business is picking up a bit. I’ve been slamming a full month of sessions into two weeks because of my little Inferno vacation, revamping client programs for fall and networking to bring new clients into the pipeline. Work with the two non-profit boards I serve on continues. I’ve pulled out of helping to prepare our Northwest titleholders for the International competition because I’ll be judging the contest in San Francisco next month, but Generic Leather Productions of Washington has several other projects I’m involved with and our annual meeting for the Washington State Mr|Ms Leather Organization is coming up in a few weeks. And, last Friday I taught a class on single tails for Tribal Instincts, Seattle Men in Leather’s educational series.
Side Bar: The class wasn’t very well attended. It might be that I’m just getting used to presenting to audiences of 50 (the needle demo Derek and I did at Inferno this year) to 100 (the class with Midori in Chicago), but I’m afraid it is more a reflection of SML’s floundering as an organization. I know a couple of months ago, the Dragon Clan (my leather family) were informed that our play at the leather socials, with all the whip cracks and noise from flogging scenes, was disruptive to peoples’ conversations. Give me a fucking break. SML has always been welcoming to both the leather/Sm and the leather/S&M crowds (go ahead, ask me about the distinction), but I’m getting the impression that the organization is losing its soul. This tears me apart because Dave Lewis, my Daddy in Seattle until he died, invested so much into SML and I don’t want to just walk away from the organization. We’re having another social at the Cuff this Wednesday. The Dragons will be there. Hopefully, other players will be too.
Speaking of the family, I met my brothers Gene and Odie out at the Cuff Sunday night. It was a pretty slow night, but a good opportunity to touch base and talk about the stuff coming up. And some of the boys were there too, including Danny (pictured above) a new boy to Seattle who was brought to my attention by my boy Derek. I got to meet Danny a few weeks ago during Northwest Leather Weekend and invited him to join Derek and I at the play party the Saturday night. Since then he seems to have found a comfortable home within the fold of our crew.
All in all, it’s been a good and productive period but I’m missing my boys immensely. Derek is home in Chicago and Jeff is on vacation in Hawaii. Both close to my heart and always on my mind but thousands of miles away. With busy days and close friends here in Seattle to occupy my time I shouldn’t feel so lonely but I do nonetheless. I’m looking forward to seeing Derek in San Francisco this weekend and thrilled that Jeff will be joining us at the street fair on Sunday. I’m going to be one very happy man.

Seattle, WA –- While I was back in Chicago a couple weekends ago, we had a special house guest, Midori. This was a real treat because it gave us an opportunity to finally get to know each other a little better. I met Midori a couple years ago on a photo shoot for Artana of Shot In The Dark. We’ve seen each other on several occasions since but this has generally been at events where neither of us had much of a chance to just kick back and chat. Although Midori had a busy schedule presenting classes at various venues in Chicago that weekend, we did get several chances to hang out. Highlights included shopping for pervertables after a superb Korean BBQ at a local market in the Logan Square neighborhood (photos) and stunt bottoming for one of her classes with my boy Derek, Ruff and a beautiful punk girl who’s name I forgot to get permission to use.
Given a shared passion for rope and the Sm arts, you can imagine the topics of conversation over the weekend. I definitely came away from the experience with some wonderfully twisted new ideas and a closer friendship with Midori.
Midori is an expert rigger with wicked rope skills and one of the best educators/presenters I’ve ever seen. If you’re in the mid-west, I highly recommend her full weekend intensive Rope Dojo coming to Kansas City October 18th & 19th from 10am to 6pm both days. Registration is open now through the end of the month, but space is limited to only thirty students so act fast. Cost is $350 for singles and $600 for pairs.
Here’s a little teaser:
Full Weekend Intensive Rope Dojo® with expert riggers, Midori & Delano.
A Rope Bondage Weekend martial arts styled Intensive from the basic with Midori and Associate Instructor, Delano. Want to learn about rope bondage? Frustrated with short workshops & demos? Or have you already lassoed the basics and ready for a real challenge? In this concentrated weekend you will cover the heart & soul of the rope experience, covering top and bottom perspectives as well.

Indianapolis, ID – After flying into Chicago on Thursday, Derek and I drove into Indianapolis for Great Lakes Leather Alliance (GLLA) weekend on Friday. We were invited to present a Shibari class as part of the extensive series of educational workshops associated with the event. This was a welcome trip since I had not been able to see the boy for several weeks. It was also a wonderful opportunity to visit with friends from around the country and make new friends in the Great Lakes region.
Ms Kendra, the Executive Director of GLLA, and her crew produce a spectacular event in Indianapolis. By combining several title contests, offering quality BDSM workshops, open events and an excellent dungeon space / play party in a hotel setting the weekend attracts a large crowd of true players from the region. As far as regional contest events go, GLLA is a fine example to emulate.
Congratulations to all the new titleholders from the Great Lakes Region. They are pictured above from left to right, standing: Trooper (Great Lakes Bootblack 2008) Lisandro, (Mr. Mid-States Leather 2008), Sir Merrill, (Great Lakes Leather Sir 2009), Mistress Simone (Great Lakes Ms Leather Pride 2008), and Master Gallad (Great Lakes Master 2008); and kneeling: boy neil (Great Lakes Leather boy 2009) and slave kelly (Great Lakes slave 2008). And, kudos to the many volunteers that helped make the weekend a success.
The Shibari class Derek and I conducted on Friday was on one of the Quick Arm Binders we teach. There were about thirty or so people in the class. It was well received and I was really pleased to see several of the attendees practicing throughout the weekend. As promised, I’ve posted the handouts with step-by-step instructions for both the Speed Coil and the Binder. You can find the PDF file here or by following the linked image on the left.
Unfortunately, it may be some time before I can post this particular entry or update this site at all. Early Friday morning my computer went non-operational. I’m not terribly worried because all the data is safely backed-up. Online correspondence however will be shoddy at best for an indeterminable period. Please bear with me.
On a more personal note, there was one specific addition to the weekend that I truly appreciated. The organizers made an anonymous, rapid HIV testing service available to all the attendees. When I heard this announced, I thought for a moment and realized that it had been over a year since my last test. My travel schedule and the immediate availability of close support had pushed this particular action item down my to-do list. With my boy Derek and Dragon Clan brothers Gene and Mark close at hand, I decided that there was no time like the present and went to get tested.
There is always trepidation and anxiety associated with getting tested… even when the wait is only twenty minutes. Yes, I play safe, but there is always a risk unless you abstain completely, which is something I won’t do. Testing positive is one of the last things anyone familiar with the consequences of HIV wants to learn. Thankfully, my test came back negative and I can now begin my thirty-eighth year with that knowledge.

Los Angeles, CA –- In May of this year, the California Supreme Court overturned the state’s ban of same sex marriages as a violation of the state Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection guaranty. Duh. The backlash, of course, from those who would deny individuals their rights base on sexual orientation have taken to the political field with an initiative that that will appear on the November ballot. The initiative, Proposition 8, would amend the state’s Constitution to eliminate the rights of same sex couples to marry.
In response to the political and religious extremists’ efforts to deny gay and lesbian couples their equality under the law, a large and diverse coalition of allies, including civil rights organizations, faith leaders and groups, choice organizations, organized labor and community of color organizations in addition to LGBT community organizations and leaders. The leather/Sm and gay adult film industry are no exception to this coalition. This year Shawn Farnsworth and the crew from the Faultline bar in Silver Lake partnered with several studios and performers to present the 15th Annual PORNATHON Lot Party as a benefit for the No on 8, Equality for All Campaign.
Thanks to Titan, I had the honor of joining erotica legend Zak Spears, Dean Phoenix from Colt Studios, Johnny Gunn from Hot House and Steve Cruz from Raging Stallion to headline the event and offer our support. We were there all afternoon and early evening for photos, autographs and a fuck load of swag to hand out. Given the theme of the event, I couldn’t help tying the knot myself, with a little help from Johnny Gunn (photo above) and Steve Cruz (photo left). Special thanks to my buddy TBall for letting me use the photos he snapped.
All in all, the event helped raise $3,000 for the No on 8 Campaign. That’s great, but as I learned from Sabrina, the campaign’s representative at the event, swaying the one hundred thousand undecided voters in the Los Angeles area will be critical to defeating the proposition in November. So I was even happier to learn we helped sign on three times as many volunteers for the campaign than similar events. These volunteers will be vital to persuading the swing votes that will decide this issue.
Call to Action: Help defeat Prop 8! Visit EqualityForAll.com and volunteer or contribute in any way you can.

San Diego, CA –- A couple years ago, one of the boys I had been mentoring in Seattle moved south to San Diego. I’ve kept in touch with this boy, Vladimir (pictured right). He has continued his activism in the leather/Sm scene (as much as he can in a location like San Diego) and has become quite involved with the rugby team in his new hometown. So, when Vlad asked if I would come down to San Diego to ‘check it out’ and assist with a fundraising event ha was organizing for the rugby team, I had to answer in the affirmative.
I flew in yesterday to meet some of the people involved, talk about ideas, scout locations and work through some of the details. Although the details are not totally solidified yet, it looks like I might be helping out with a bachelor auction later this fall. It should be a blast and I’ll keep you up to date as I learn more.
Of course the trip to San Diego wasn’t all community service work; we got to fit some personal time in, too. Today Vlad and I went to the San Diego Zoo (which I hadn’t been to since I was a kid, about thirty years ago). The trip to the zoo brought back some of my only pleasant memories of childhood, reminded me just how scared of heights I can be (the sky tram) and had me wondering which set of primates were more interesting to watch, the monkeys or the humans.
We also got a chance to cruise some of the local bars over the course of the last two evening. And, you know what that means. Yep you guessed it, boys got tied up. I’ve started to collect a picture montage of boys (and girls) in quick arm binders from around the country. The photo to the left is the latest addition, a beautiful Latino named Manuel who I met at Pecs bar. He took some convincing, but once he agreed to give it a try, he seemed to enjoy himself.

Seattle, WA –- It’s been a while since my last post, I know. The past month has been occupied by my work with clients, another ‘art film’ with Titan, community events and reconnecting with my boys Derek and Jeff.
Business has been slow but the clients I have are all enjoyable to work with and incredibly understanding of my travel schedule. The economy sucks. There, I said it. I’m convinced the present leadership in the government (at least two of the three branches) has really fucked things up. I still have client openings and prospects are thin so I’m working to build (and diversify) my business.
Speaking of diversification, I did have another shoot with Titan last month. According to Brian Mills in the June issue of GayVN Magazine, Funhouse has been pushed off for a Halloween release date. This necessitated the production of another fetish release for the Folsom Street Fair in September, so I was brought down for a scene in early June. My scene partners were Dirk Jager, Frank Philipp and Tyler Peters. It was a challenging shoot because of the amount of action we captured but I’m confident we delivered. I’m sure I’ll post more on the subject once the movie is released.
Derek and I got to spend two extended weekends together without any official responsibilities last month. It was important for us to reconnect at that level after the extensive amount of time we’ve spent engaged in outside projects. The first weekend we attended BootCamp, a BDSM retreat sponsored by the San Francisco Men of Discipline. Held at Temptation Ranch in San Luis Obispo CA, the run was intimate, relaxing and filled with a sense of brotherhood and camaraderie. Derek and I got in several good scenes including an opportunity to co-top one of our best friends from San Francisco. If you hear one of the Men of Discipline talk about a fairly bloody needle scene during the closing hours of the run, be sure to ask him about the Family Recipe Rubbing Salts. The following weekend, Derek joined me in Seattle for some down time. Since he re-injured his medial collateral ligament while on maneuvers at BootCamp the week before, we didn’t get a chance to play too hard but we did manage to have a great few days together.
This past weekend I spent with Jeff. We went to the GLPW sponsored Seventh Deadly Sin Play Party Friday night and Twisted Family Picnic Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we attended the festivities downtown. It was actually a pretty low-key weekend. I’m not sure if Jeff has as good a time in my company as I do in his, but I hope so.
I’ve been reading through some reviews and will post some choice snippets tomorrow. Until then, I’ll leave you with the photos I promised from the performance at the House of Blues taken by Jerome of Chapter 9 Photography. You should check out his stuff; it’s pretty wack.

Chicago, IL –- Okay, I’m officially exhausted but it’s been totally worth it. We’ve had three very full days of work concluding with a performance at the House of Blues. It’s been a long but enjoyable weekend.
Derek and I had been looking forward to performing our dynamic suspension routine at the House of Blues for the IML XXX Victory Party since we first heard it would be a possibility several weeks ago. It’s a performance we’ve done several times at venues throughout the country but it almost didn’t happen at the House of Blues. The week before Derek suffered an injury to his left knee (don’t ask) and we didn’t know if he would be up for the performance until the day of the event. Then, we ran into some reservations from the powers that be regarding the scene. Luckily, Derek’s knee was fine and an in person meeting with the folks at the venue calmed all fears. The show was on.
And what a show it was. The place was packed; there must have been thousands. The music was great and the professional lighting and fog machine added to the theatrics. It was an exhilarating experience. The picture above is all I’ve got thus far, but I had a photographer friend snap some pictures I hope to receive and post to a gallery soon. I’ll keep you informed.

Chicago, IL –- Derek and I arrived and made our entrance at the Grabbys with the crew from Titan. Sister Roma was there with NakedSword on the red carpet and we stopped for a quick interview with the paparazzo’s cameras flashing away. Once inside we had an opportunity to reconnect with some of our friends in the industry before settling into our seats with the guys from Titan and LeatherPost.
Early into the show, Brian Mills was inducted into the Grabby Wall of Fame. I was happy for him. Brian is one of my favorite people in the business and has become a trusted friend. His work is among the very best in the industry and the honor is well deserved. Congratulations.
Not long afterward the nominees for Best Fetish Video (Extreme) were read. Fear had been nominated in this category and it would be dishonest of me not to admit Derek and I had high hopes for Titan taking home this particular award. We had worked hard, along with many others, on Fear to bring content that resonated with the leather/Sm community and we were looking that effort (and the market) to be recognized at this level. As the nominees were read, Brian turned to me and said, “You know, if we win, you and Derek need to come up with me.” The picture (captured by fellow TitanMen Exclusive Dillon Buck) above shows the three of us accepting the award on behalf of Titan.
During the second half of the show, Derek and I were slated to present a couple of awards with our friend Ago Viara. While I didn’t know it prior to the show, it became clear that each set of presenters had a bit of shtick, so I rigged a couple of matching Shibari harnesses on the boys before we went on stage (photo Left). Derek and Ago looked so good I wished we were in a dungeon instead of at an awards show. Mr Pam had made a shout out to Derek and I earlier in the evening talking about how her hand hurt from punching Derek in the nuts the night before so I encouraged her to come up and repeat the experience for the audience. It was definitely a blast if not a little over the top.
Some quick shout outs: Steven Sarborough and Hot House, congratulations; Braxton Bond, it was great to see you again and I’d love to see you in LA sometime soon; Josh Vaughn, wish we could do a scene together… I’ll bet you cry real pretty; Ago Viara, you are so fucking hot if I don’t get to do a scene with you I’ll go crazy; Steve Cruz, keep up all the good work buddy; and Mr Pam, keep up the training ‘cause you pack a punch.
