Re: Connecting

ReflectiveRe: ConnectingSeattle, WA –- It’s been a while since my last post, I know. The past month has been occupied by my work with clients, another ‘art film’ with Titan, community events and reconnecting with my boys Derek and Jeff.

Business has been slow but the clients I have are all enjoyable to work with and incredibly understanding of my travel schedule. The economy sucks. There, I said it. I’m convinced the present leadership in the government (at least two of the three branches) has really fucked things up. I still have client openings and prospects are thin so I’m working to build (and diversify) my business.

Speaking of diversification, I did have another shoot with Titan last month. According to Brian Mills in the June issue of GayVN Magazine, Funhouse has been pushed off for a Halloween release date. This necessitated the production of another fetish release for the Folsom Street Fair in September, so I was brought down for a scene in early June. My scene partners were Dirk Jager, Frank Philipp and Tyler Peters. It was a challenging shoot because of the amount of action we captured but I’m confident we delivered. I’m sure I’ll post more on the subject once the movie is released.

Derek and I got to spend two extended weekends together without any official responsibilities last month. It was important for us to reconnect at that level after the extensive amount of time we’ve spent engaged in outside projects. The first weekend we attended BootCamp, a BDSM retreat sponsored by the San Francisco Men of Discipline. Held at Temptation Ranch in San Luis Obispo CA, the run was intimate, relaxing and filled with a sense of brotherhood and camaraderie. Derek and I got in several good scenes including an opportunity to co-top one of our best friends from San Francisco. If you hear one of the Men of Discipline talk about a fairly bloody needle scene during the closing hours of the run, be sure to ask him about the Family Recipe Rubbing Salts. The following weekend, Derek joined me in Seattle for some down time. Since he re-injured his medial collateral ligament while on maneuvers at BootCamp the week before, we didn’t get a chance to play too hard but we did manage to have a great few days together.

This past weekend I spent with Jeff. We went to the GLPW sponsored Seventh Deadly Sin Play Party Friday night and Twisted Family Picnic Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we attended the festivities downtown. It was actually a pretty low-key weekend. I’m not sure if Jeff has as good a time in my company as I do in his, but I hope so.

I’ve been reading through some reviews and will post some choice snippets tomorrow. Until then, I’ll leave you with the photos I promised from the performance at the House of Blues taken by Jerome of Chapter 9 Photography. You should check out his stuff; it’s pretty wack.

Performing at the House of Blues

26 May 2008 12:00

MonsignorePerforming at the House of BluesChicago, IL –- Okay, I’m officially exhausted but it’s been totally worth it. We’ve had three very full days of work concluding with a performance at the House of Blues. It’s been a long but enjoyable weekend.

Derek and I had been looking forward to performing our dynamic suspension routine at the House of Blues for the IML XXX Victory Party since we first heard it would be a possibility several weeks ago. It’s a performance we’ve done several times at venues throughout the country but it almost didn’t happen at the House of Blues. The week before Derek suffered an injury to his left knee (don’t ask) and we didn’t know if he would be up for the performance until the day of the event. Then, we ran into some reservations from the powers that be regarding the scene. Luckily, Derek’s knee was fine and an in person meeting with the folks at the venue calmed all fears. The show was on.

And what a show it was. The place was packed; there must have been thousands. The music was great and the professional lighting and fog machine added to the theatrics. It was an exhilarating experience. The picture above is all I’ve got thus far, but I had a photographer friend snap some pictures I hope to receive and post to a gallery soon. I’ll keep you informed.

IML XXX at the Leather Market

24 May 2008 17:00

CageIML XXX at the Leather MarketChicago, IL –- This is definitely a working weekend. Luckily, I really do enjoy the work. In addition to the release party last night, Derek and I have been manning the Titan/LeatherPost booth at the IML Leather Market yesterday and earlier today. There have been some true highlights.

Yesterday, toward the end of the day, Everett from LeatherPost asked if Derek and I would be will to do a little something that would attract some attention to the booth. Now, I’ve got to communicate just how fond I’ve become of Everett in such a short time. I met Everett over Folsom Street Fair last year. Titan and LeatherPost have had a close public relationship since the release of Folsom Filth two years ago and were sharing the booth at the fair while I was down for the release of Fear last year. When Everett relocated LeatherPost to Seattle he sought me out to welcome him to the local community and I have since grown to like him very much.

IML XXX at the Leather Market (Bonus)Request granted and what better way to attract attention at a vender mart than with a good, brutal flogging (photo above). Brian Mills was on hand with his camera and captured some good pictures of the action. We created a good spectacle and gathered quite the crowd. We fell into the headspace, got into the zone and didn’t stop until the scene was bloody. It was exhilarating.

I also got a chance to get sexy performer Vinnie D’Angelo into a quick binder (photo left). This was a rare treat because Vinnie doesn’t give up control very easily and had never been in bondage before. I could tell the rope made him nervous and a little uncomfortable but he was a good sport and proved he trusted me. You have to admit, he looks beautiful in the rope.

Tonight is the Grabbys and tomorrow Derek and I will be performing at the House of Blues for the IML XXX Victory Party, so that’s all for now.

Released: Folsom Prison

23 May 2008 10:00

PersonalReleased: Folsom PrisonChicago, IL –- Today Titan Media released Folsom Prison. Last night Derek and I got a sneak peak with director Brian Mills and cinematographer Paul Wilde. It’s a good piece of work. I’ll admit, I’m biased but that is tempered by an artist’s criticism of his own work. You can learn more about Folsom Prison here or purchase a copy and judge for yourself.

First impression: I’m all over this video from the box cover through the final scene and bonus features. Titan even gives me screen-writing credit along with Brain Mills and Diesel Washington. The over-all look and feel is cool, gritty and masculine. The action is hard, intense and, at times, even shocking. There is plenty of fetish-contend and brutal sexuality captured with iconic prison-fantasy imagery and classic Titan production quality.

While I had initially hoped to be cast as a prison gang leader (we’ll save that idea for another feature), I took to my role as the corrupt corrections officer with ease. I got a chance to work with newest, bad boy Titanmen Exclusive Chad Manning and much of our b-reel footage adds continuity to Folsom Prison. Our shower scene at the end of the video was a lot of fun. Chad definitely knows how to take it like a man. Also taking it like a man in the finale is my boy Derek da Silva. That boy is totally amazing. Not only did he take a fairly good beat down from the other guys in the scene, but face punching (if you watch closely you can see him go out after the third punch) and a stun gun to the nuts. And, of course, there’s Alex Baresi. I really enjoyed working with him; connecting with him seemed effortless. The scene with him and Vinnie D’Angelo was one of the easiest shoots I’ve done with Titan.

Note of Caution: Do not try this at home without the guidance of an experienced practitioner. Fisting, impact (especially advanced techniques like face punching) and electricity play are specific skill sets. There is very real risk of injury associated with these activities. While these skills can be learned fairly quickly, I cannot stress enough the importance of learning from and experienced player. Not only will it provide an opportunity for interactive understanding of risk mitigation and guided practical application but will help build strong community relationships and serve to sustain the tradition of mentoring within our community.

There is however, one risk mitigation skill you can employ without any instruction. Put a condom on if you’re going to fuck and demand that your partner do the same if you’re on the receiving end.

CageIML XXX Events Line-UpSeattle, WA –- The release of Titan Media’s Folsom Prison, the publication of Anatomy of a Scene in Instigator Magazine, CHC’s Annual Cocktail Party, the Grabby Awards and a live demo at the House of Blues will be the order of business along with socializing throughout IML weekend in Chicago in just three days. I’ll let Titan’s press release take the lead:

TitanMen Announces Line-up of Events at 2008 IML

Appearing live at the booth Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be TitanMen exclusives Tony Buff, Dean Flynn, Rick van Sant, Dillon Buck and Diesel Washington, along with Director Brian Mills and special appearances by TitanMen Derek da Silva, Vinnie D’Angelo and Markus Ram.

Join TitanMen, Folsom Street Events and The Powerhouse for the official San Francisco Party and premier of Folsom Prison Friday night, May 23rd. Get up close and personal with your favorite TitanMen performers at the party being held at the IML host hotel in Crystal Ballrooms B&C from 10:00pm to 2:00am. This massive party will attract thousands of fetish enthusiasts for cruising, dancing, and a whole lot of unspeakable fun! The party is free and open to the public.

Saturday night May 24th at the 17th annual Grabby Awards show, join Director Brain Mills and the men of Titan in celebrating the many nominations TitanMen has received. TitanMen exclusive Dean Flynn co-hosts the event alongside the legendary ChiChi LaRue and Honey West. Presented annually by Gay Chicago magazine, the show is considered one of the leading gay adult industry awards shows in the world; for ticket information, please visit www.grabbys.com. Be prepared for a special surprise “Wall of Fame” inductee to be announced during the event!

Sunday night the 25th, come celebrate the new International Mr. Leather at the official IML Victory Party, sponsored by TitanMen.com and Leatherpost.com. Party and shake it with over 3,500 leather men to the sweaty beats of DJ Tony Moran. This is the biggest and filthiest party of the weekend, so don’t miss it! For tickets, please visit www.HOB.com.

So, Derek and I will be at the TitanMen/LeaterPost booth mid days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will be there no earlier than 11:30 and out by 13:00 on Saturday, but will probably stay past that on Friday and Sunday. You can bet we’ll be having some fun at the booth.

Friday night will find us at the San Francisco / Folsom Prison Release Party. We connect with the crew that produce Folsom Street Fair and playing at the Power House when we’re in San Francisco. It’s an open party so Derek and I want to invite all of our friends and family that are in town to join us in the Crystal Ballroom at the host hotel.

Saturday, Derek and I have been asked to present at the Grabby’s. We’ll be there with the crew from Titan and I’m looking forward to spending some time with Brian and Paul. I’m sure Dean will be busy with his co-hosting duties, but it will be good to catch up with Diesel and Rick. Fear is up for Best Fetish Extreme Video and Breakers is nominated for Best All-Sex Video so I have a vested interest in at least two of the awards. While our presence may be delayed, we’re hopeful things at the Grabby’s will be well enough organized to grant Derek and I a chance to join our brothers in the Chicago Hellfire Club at the Annual Cocktail Party. Personally, I’m more concerned about having the energy and opportunity to play at the clubhouse Saturday night.

On Sunday at the IML Victory Party at the House of Blues, Derek and I are scheduled to perform a demo. I’m still not sure what we’ll be demonstrating but if logistics permit, we’d like to reprise the dynamic suspension scene we’ve been working on this year.

Side Bar: We’re performing at the House of BluesL. How cool is that?

In addition to the above, Derek and I have co-authored the first in what should be and series of columns for Instigator Magazine. Anatomy of a Scene: Blood Sports has already gone to publication and will be in the issue available over IML.

Sneak Preview: Folsom Prison

9 May 2008 16:20

CagedSneak Preview: Folsom PrisonSeattle, WA –- In two weeks Titan Media will release the latest in the Folsom series of Leather/Fetish films. Folsom Prison represents the collaborative efforts of some of the best talent in the gay adult video industry to bring you the highest quality BDSM ever captured on screen.

Working with director Brian Mills, the production crew and my fellow performers on Prison has been the highlight of my art film career. Brian has a voyeuristic passion for capturing the essence of a scene. Thanks to the working relationship we’ve developed over the past nine months, I was able to work closely with him to stage the two scenes I have in Prison. My scene partners (who include Alex Baresi and Vinnie D’Angelo in one scene; and my boy Derek da Silva, Chad Manning, Damien Crosse and Dominic Sol in the other) help bring to life the dark, provoking fantasies of life behind bars. With a crew capable of capturing every shot, angle and sound combined with a post-production team with a history of pulling it all together, Folsom Prison promises to deliver an electrifying experience.

Keith Webb, the VP over at Titan sent me these sneak previews of the Folsom Prison box cover (above) and trailer (left) to share with all of you. I can’t wait to see the final edit in two weeks.

I’ll be at the LeatherPost/Titan booth at the Leather Market over IML in Chicago along with Brian Mills, Paul Wilde, Diesel Washington, Rick van Sant, and my boy Derek da Silva. You can pick up your copy of Folsom Prison, in either DVD or Blu-Ray disk at the booth. Remember, a portion of the sale benefits the TitanMen/Folsom Street Events Fund. You can also help us celebrate the release of Folsom Prison at the San Francisco Party in the West Tower Crystal Ballroom of the Hyatt Friday night from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am. I definitely hope to see you there.
