Chicago, IL — Sometime between Midnight and Noon on Sunday, December 14, 2003, after an evening celebrating Pictures with Santa as the President of Seattle Men in Leather, Dave Lewis passed away of an apparent heart attack… apparently while cruising the internet for sex, logged on as Gladiator Breaker.
I was supposed to have lunch with Daddy Dave that day, but he never showed up. It wasn’t like Dave at all. I called my Dragon brother, Gene, to find out if he had heard from Dave. He hadn’t. Later that day Gene found Dave’s body. That was five years ago today.
Last night I was at the CHC Clubhouse in Chicago with my boy Derek. At 23:00 we raised our glasses and drank a toast in Dave’s memory. At the same time in places from Seattle to St. Louis my brothers and sisters in the Dragon Clan did the same. Afterward, I took Derek up to the dungeon, tied him down to a floating bondage table and punched his cock and balls until he screamed and shot a thick load of cum all over himself and my rope. I know Dave would have enjoyed watching that scene. He was a twisted fucker and I loved him. He taught me more about being a man than a leather man and I miss his counsel greatly.
Today, I was looking through old pictures and came across the one above of him holding my first collared boy, Chris. He left too soon for my liking, but I am thankful that before he did, he brought the Dragons together as a family. While I doubt I can ever live up to the example he set, it is still an example I strive to achieve.
It might be a little egotistical, but I like to think he’d be proud of the way I grew up.

Chicago, IL — Last night my boy Derek and I performed a two-part Shibari demonstration for the Chicago Hellfire Club’s Bar Night at the Hole in the basement of the Jackhammer. This was the second time we’ve done a demo for the CHC as part of a Bar Night at the Hole.
Last December we demonstrated the dynamic suspension rigging we would later showcase at the House of Blues in Chicago during the IML XXX Victory Party. That particular demo was an excellent example of performance rigging. The rope bondage becomes spectacle, geared more for theater than an actual scene.
This year we wanted to focus on the use of Shibari to enhance actual fetish/Sm play. Specifically, we hoped to demonstrate several key concepts: first, the manner in which rope bondage can be used to frame a scene; second, how the rope can serve as a physical conduit connecting the players within a scene; third, exhibit the simplicity of eastern style rope bondage techniques in expediting the rigging process; and finally, display the versatility afforded by the application of these techniques.
To explore these concepts, we broke the demo into two parts. The first part, I rigged the boy in a supine horizontal full suspension with his legs held in a spread position (photo above). I’ve posted a set of thirty photographs taken during this part of the demo in the gallery entitled 2008 CHC Bar Night at the Hole (Part I). I’m sure that if you’re reading my posts you can imagine a wide variety of scenes this particular rigging might facilitate. The rigging itself was a lot of fun to perform because I was really doing it on the fly with a bunch of interaction with the audience. For the second part of the demo, I rigged the boy into a partial suspension and we engaged in some heavy impact play (photo left). You can find a full set of photographs from this part of the demo in the gallery entitled 2008 CHC Bar Night at the Hole (Part II). Those of you that know us will understand why I admit this was our favorite part of the demo after you see the photos. Doug did a great job capturing the photos for both galleries.
Derek and I both want to thank Rob and the crew at the Hole for hosting the CHC Bar Night, providing us with a great space to present and keeping us well imbibed through the end of the night. We also want to thank the Chicago Hellfire Club for inviting us in to perform the demo; we truly enjoy sharing what we do with our likeminded brothers and sisters. And, of course, we want to thank everyone that braved the cold weather to come out and let us entertain them.

Chicago, IL –- After just one day at home in Seattle I flew out to Chicago. I’ve been here to visit my boy, attend the Chicago Hellfire Club’s (CHC) annual Associate Applicant weekend and rehearse for an upcoming staged reading. Before I left Seattle the image (right), a rendering from an artist by the name of Nerone, was pointed out to me, so I figured I’d include it in this post. You can check out his other works on his blog.
Rehearsals for the staged reading of Doric Wilson’s A Perfect Relationship presented as a part of the People’s Theater of Chicago’s Legacy Project are going well. The play is fast paced and quite funny. I’ve never performed in a gay-themed play before and the experience has been very refreshing. Although set in the 1970’s, it is a timeless exploration of the relationships between gay man and a poignant reminder that they often develop in unexpected ways. I’m also a little tickled by the fact that I’m playing a disco bunny on stage at the Leather Archives and Museum (LA&M). It really should be fun.
As I mentioned, the staged reading will be presented at the LA&M, which is located at 6481 Greenview Ave in Chicago, on Sunday 16 November 2008 at 2pm. The event is open to the public (donations accepted). Please join us for this special production.
Of course the event that motivated me to return to Chicago this trip was the CHC’s annual Associate Applicant weekend. The event attracts many club brothers as well as new applicants from around the world and is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the fraternal bonds that define the spirit of the club. I’m also particularly grateful for the chances these weekends provide to solicit counsel from the many experienced and respected players I now consider among my closest friends. Derek and I were both happy to hear how well our columns for Instigator Magazine have been received by these men.
Because of the heavy schedule this past weekend we only made it to a few of the CHC events but we did get several good scenes in at the clubhouse and the Hole while I was in town. It’s been a good trip and I’m looking forward to getting back here next weekend.

Douglas, MI –- There is nothing quite like Inferno. In short, Inferno is the weeklong men’s Sm run sponsored by the Chicago Hellfire Club (CHC), but it is much more than that… it is an exploration of the fraternal bonds created by sadomasochism. It is also the time and space that defines the nature of my relationship with Derek and marks the anniversary of our first meeting. It is the environment in which we thrive, surrounded by those more like us than anywhere else. The past week has been an escape from the norm into another world.
At this, the closing of my third Inferno, I can’t help but think back to my first. I remember the trepidation and uncertainty that accompanied me to Inferno XXXV. I had no idea what to expect, if I’d fit or be accepted within the fold of this legendary event. I had just turned thirty-six and had only started topping in scene about five years earlier. My skills where modest at best… rough sex, fisting, water sports, sounds, light breath control, moderate impact play and intermediate bondage. Yeah, I know some of you reading might not consider that list too reserved, but in comparison to the men of Inferno I felt like a novice. Even with my passion for rope bondage I still hadn’t topped my first solo suspension scene.
All that apprehension dissipated as soon as I arrived on site though. Actually, just before I entered the compound, while I was waiting for registration when I saw Derek for the first time. He was Hot. He’s shorter than me and stocky. By stocky, I mean large for his size in a lean and muscular way. He has decent calves (he was wearing shorts), broad shoulders, rugged face and an amazing ass. He was oblivious to me as he rushed by and I noticed the patch sown to his Alpha flight jacket after checking out his back side. I get so distracted when a boy attracts my attention, I totally forgot about any insecurity I might have had.
I played like a kink starved sadomasochist on his first day in hell that Inferno. I had two scenes each day except Sunday during transition and at least one each night. I topped. I bottomed. And I kept my sights set on the boy I saw at registration even when I was told he was “out of my league” by one of the CHC members that caught me cruising Derek while in line for chow Friday morning. That comment must have set my resolve to a new level. I had two scenes with Derek that day and now consider the guy that made the comment among my closest friends in the club.
The following day I went to witness the group, hook ritual where participants are pierced with flesh hooks through the chest that are bound together with lengths of cord to facilitate a large group hook pull ritual. I watched Derek get pierced and knew I had to do it with him, so at the last moment I joined in. It was a perfect bonding moment for us. We kept to the side and played with the interchange of energy. I truly consider it the moment we bonded as a couple.
Last year, at Inferno XXXVI, we marked the anniversary with blood art. This year we returned to the hook pull, again keeping to the side and each other. It was so intense at one point I puked into my own mouth. It was beautiful and those of you reading that understand will know what I mean.
This year, like last year, Derek and I were focused mostly on each other and played, almost exclusively, together alone, with few exceptions. We closed our play at Inferno XXXVII the same way we closed our first together, with an inverted Shibari suspension and impact play. I topped the scene just as I had for my first solo rigging two years ago… this time without the safety strap.
Side Bar: Two years ago I decided to rig my first solo suspension, in full view of what could have been my most critical observers. I didn’t make it easy on myself either. I chose one of the riskiest and most difficult suspensions to rig, inverted by the ankles. I didn’t have the confidence in my rigging that I do now, so to reduce the risk of a serious falling injury if the rigging failed I set a safety strap. I can’t help but smile when I think back on the scene.
This would become a foreshadowing of things come. Inferno and the men of the Chicago Hellfire Club, especially Derek, have been formative to my development as a practitioner. They have helped expand my skills, build my confidence, shape my character and take my play to new levels.
I’m sad to see this year’s Inferno come to a close but I’m happy I had the chance to be here again with Derek and am already looking forward to Inferno XXXVIII.

Seattle, WA — Yesterday was my thirty-eighth birthday. This weekend has also included the events associated with Northwest Leather. And while those of you who read my blog regularly may grow tired of reading it over and over, I must state again how truly blessed I am by the people with whom I share my life.
My boy Derek and his partner of twelve-plus years, Doug, came out from Chicago to be with me for my birthday. You can imagine my joy in having Derek with me; the connection we share is probably the strongest in my life right now. And my relationship with Doug has grown beyond my expectations. Although the relationship Doug and I have is not of the D/s variety, I still consider him one of my boys and the bonds we three share create a kind of family. While it may not seem familiar to many, it is my core.
Of course there is another boy I’ve been trying to court into this strange family of ours for almost a year now. Jeff and I have had some challenge over the past couple months but I am cautiously optimistic of the future. He’s out of town this weekend but we had a chance to reconnect before he left. I’m not sure how things will progress but I do know I am very much in love with him. It’s clear he loves me in return, too. I think this may scare him a little but with time we’ll figure out what to make of our relationship.
Then there is my foundation, the Dragon Clan. My brothers and our whelps form the base of what I consider my community. Gene and Odie (pictured above) in particular are sources of inspiration and support. I can’t count the number of times over the course of the past year the Dragons have offered their encouragement and compassion. These have been my first responders when I have sought counsel and comfort.
Expanding beyond this foundation is my broader community of family and friends. Having the Northwest Leather weekend coincide with my birthday gives me the opportunity to spend the time with them as well. Leather/Sm events in Seattle tend to attract the best players from throughout the Pacific Northwest, many of whom I consider among my closest friends. I got to see some of the women that contribute so much, including Lynnda, Alycyn, Tobin, Alyxx and Matisse. I had a chance to thank Malixe for all the photos he’s taken over the years (including those posted with this entry). I got to visit with guys outside the men’s community like Max and Monk in addition to the many gay and queer men I know from Seattle and Portland. I even got to play a little with my favorite girl from Toronto Gloria (pictured left) who came in to judge the contest.
All in all, it was a glorious weekend that also produced three new titleholders for the Northwest region: Rich Bryan as Northwest Leather Sir 2008, John Trueman as Northwest Leather boy and Shell Bishop as Northwest Community Bootblack 2008. Congratulations to each of them.
Next up on my schedule: Inferno XXXVII. I leave for Chicago on Wednesday then drive out with Derek. This will be my third Inferno and our second anniversary. To say I’m excited would be an understatement.

Saturday, Derek and I have been asked to present at the Grabby’s. We’ll be there with the crew from Titan and I’m looking forward to spending some time with Brian and Paul. I’m sure Dean will be busy with his co-hosting duties, but it will be good to catch up with Diesel and Rick. Fear is up for Best Fetish Extreme Video and Breakers is nominated for Best All-Sex Video so I have a vested interest in at least two of the awards. While our presence may be delayed, we’re hopeful things at the Grabby’s will be well enough organized to grant Derek and I a chance to join our brothers in the Chicago Hellfire Club at the Annual Cocktail Party. Personally, I’m more concerned about having the energy and opportunity to play at the clubhouse Saturday night.
On Sunday at the IML Victory Party at the House of Blues, Derek and I are scheduled to perform a demo. I’m still not sure what we’ll be demonstrating but if logistics permit, we’d like to reprise the dynamic suspension scene we’ve been working on this year.

Seattle, WA — While shooting with Titan, I simply tie them down and put a gag in their mouth. If you don’t have a ball gag handy, a twelve-foot length of rope with a double frapping knot does the trick nicely. The rope may not butch them up, but at least it immobilizes them and the gage keeps them from talking about themselves or Cher long enough to build some sexual energy on set.
That’s Jackson Wild (photographed above and below) on the set of Home Invasion. Honestly, I don’t mean to imply he was a diva in any way. In actuality, he was one of the few true pleasures I experienced making this feature. Jackson is an adorable boy and eating his ass is like going to a banquet in heaven. Our fuck scene, shot on my last night at the ranch, was incredibly hot as will be evidenced by the spontaneous eruption of money shots made by our scene partners while watching the action. You know the energy is good on set when the crew is challenged to keep up with the action. If Jackson didn’t live in the opposite corner of the country I’d be tempted to do it again without the cameras.

I’m back home now after a week on the road. It’s been fun but I’m a little fatiqued and fighting a cold. After I got back, I was catching up on correspondence and various industry sites when I ran across the best review/mention I could imagine. From Joe Gage’s blog on 11 Dec 2007:

I guess I’ll need to get used to the press. While on the road I learned I’d been mentioned in Mister Marcus‘ column for the Bay Area Reporter and that pictures from the CHC bar night at the Hole made it into Gay Chicago Magazine. Derek and I are being interviewed for GayWired.com this weekend and I just finished an interview for the Up and Coming feature in Unzipped Magazine. That interview should appear in the March issue.
Derek is flying in tonight for a weekend visit and tomorrow night we’re going to a Dragon family play party. I’m really looking forward to stringing him up like a sling and fucking him like a mad animal. Maybe I’ll capture a few photos of the rigging and get them posted.

Chicago, IL — It was a successful night all the way around. The Chicago Hellfire Club presented Colors to the Hole/Jackhammer bar with many club brothers and guests in attendance. Derek and I performed a Shibari demo after the presentation. We chose a dynamic suspension scene for the audience and it went off without a hitch. I’d like to express my thanks to everyone that turned out for the event, you all made it a great night.
This was the first time we were able to perform at a venue that allowed us to take photos, so I’m including several in a gallery. I hope you enjoy…

Seattle, WA — So it’s been over a week since my last entry. While I’ve done my best to post twice weekly, sometimes the schedule just doesn’t permit. This has been another one of those weeks; filled with client sessions; business meetings & correspondence; social events; and some great times with the boys.
Wednesday night at the monthly Seattle Men in Leather (SML) social brother Odie and I facilitated some decorating for DogHouse Leathers. We instructed four of our local boys (including my boy Christopher and Odie’s boy Aaron) to wear underwear to the event. Once there, we scurried them off to the bathroom to help each other… how shall we say… adorne the items with something special. Then, we lined them up, shirtless in front of the crowd, made them drop trou’ and proceeded to cut their underwear off, stuff the removed clothing into their mouths and instructed them to make delivery to Daddy Jeff. It was quite hot and the boys seemed to enjoy themselves.
Friday night my number one client, Eric Robison had his 50th Birthday Party at Kurrent (photo above). I say, my number one client, because Eric has not only been with me for the longest period of time, he was also the first client to sign with me when I went private practice. Happy birthay, Eric. I took Christopher to the party and had him in handcuffed for the duration of the evening (photo below). Given the venue and nature of those present, it must have been an interesting sight for many of those attending. Chock another point for scaring your audience. Christopher was, without a doubt, extremely happy and that’s what truly counts. We also got to see many of our friends including my clients Anamaria and Cat as well as our buddies from Ajexx 63.
The SML Holiday Party, hosted by Daddy Jeff & Puppy, was last Saturday night. The house was filled with familiar faces but the mood was a little low key due to the recent news of a dear friend’s passing after a motorcycle accident. Jeffy was a recognize character in the local scene and the subject of many stories. He will be remembered and missed by many.
On Sunday I took Jeff (the boy from my 16 Nov entry) to the Bondage 201 workshop conducted by Max. I love these workshops. I especially love sharing them with new boys. Much of the information may be review for me and I might veer off in my own direction when it come to the practical application portion of the training, but exposing someone new to the experience and having my rigging used to demonstrate variance on the theme of the workshops is very satisfying. Jeff learned much during the instruction period, applied himself to the rope, looked phenomenal in my rigging and reported feeling sorry when the ropes came off.
I’ve posted my Titan photos to DudesNude. I think it will prove to be a good marketing and, um… recruitment tool. I’m looking forward to the launch of my own website which is in the works now and should be launched by the first of the year (more on that later). The responses have been overwhelming; my inbox will fill to capacity four times a day if I let it, with many hot prospects and potential fans from around the world.
This Friday I’ll be flying to Chicago for the weekend. My boy Derek and I will be performing a Shibari (rope bondage), dynamic suspension demo at the Hole bar (under the Jackhammer) after a CHC colors presentation. I’m really looking forward to seeing my boy again and it will be an excellent opportunity to make a demonstratable contribution to my brothers in the Hellfire Club. I invite all of my fiends in Chicago to join us, with the reminder that the Hole will enforce a BDSM/leather dress code that evening.

Seattle, WA — Alaska Airlines flight 29 was about to re-board at Chicago’s O’Hare after a four-and-a-half hour delay late Monday evening when I got the tesxt message from my boy Derek that read, “Well congrats. You are in,” in reference to my application for Associate Membership with the Chicago Hellfire Club. It was undoubtedly the best news I had received in the last several hours. I feel truly honored to call the men of the CHC brother and privileged to call many of them friend. To those who sponsored me, I owe a debt of gratitude and to those who supported my application, my thanks.
My time in Seattle has been short since I’m flying to Los Angeles in a few hours. The time has been spent primarily with clients and business demands. Titan has booked me for my forth feature with them. I’m told Joe Gage has written a part with me in mind. The part plays out like one of my darker fantasies. I wouldn’t speculate on the details here but the theme is ‘home invasion’ and we’re set to film in December. Joe Gage is one of my favorite directors to work with and Brian Mills is usually involved this the production of his shoots. Chainsaw, my first opportunity to work with Gage, was enjoyable right down to my scene partner, Braxton Bond. It may turn out to be one of my best performances. I’m looking forward to screening Chainsaw when it is released sometime next year.
I also got a chance to spend some time with the boys. I spent Tuesday night with Christopher. My Thai boy TJ brought me dinner on Wednesday. And, Jeff took me out for steaks last night as congratulations on my induction into the CHC.
