Best of: the BlogPortland, OR – On September 29th of 2007 I posted my first entry to this blog. It was a quick and not-so-dirty little post coinciding with the release of Fear and my public foray into the adult industry. The Blog has evolved over the past couple years. It is at times promotional; documenting shoots, current projects and the latest releases. At other times my blog is more reflective and personal. My blog has also served as a forum for my essays and thoughts on community and what I like to call this thing of ours meaning queer leather/fetish and BDSM. On December 30th, Unzipped awarded an Unzippy to my blog as Most Informational (while still being hot) Blog. After learning of the award I got to thinking about the past year and decided to indentify ten entries that I believe best represent my contributions to the blogosphere. Now, for my "best of: the Blog' list for 2009...

Tony Buff Isn’t Role Playing – An Interview

Posted on 28 January 2009.
My first pick for my 'Best of: the Blog' for 2009 is a repost of an interview I agreed to do for hom Seck, the editor of French gay bimonthly magazines dedicated to the X rated gay world, Gay Video Star and Gay Video International. The interview provides a pretty good description of who I am and how I got involved in the adult industry.

It's a Contact Sport

Posted on 23 April 2009.
Picked up by my friend and writer for the Stranger, Mistress Matisse and other media sources, this post documents the events associated with a rather severe head injury I suffer early in the year.

Posted on 07 Jun 2009.
This post contains the five-paragraph essay on Safewords that I assigned myself as punishment for telling Chi Chi LaRue, "Safewords are for retarded tops" while on-stage at the Grabbys last year after she said she was ready for a blood scene with me.

La Famiglia: the Dragon Clan & Family Buff

Posted on 22 Jul 2009.
Over this past 4th of July weekend my extended leather family, the Dragon Clan, held our first family reunion (of sorts). This entry reflects on how family has been re-defined in my world.

BDSM: Safer Kinky Sex

Posted on 19 Aug 2009.

By far the most important post of 2009, this entry highlights the BDSM: Safer Kinky Sex booklet produced by the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). The booklet is an amazing resource and, in my opinion, a must-read for every player.

Folsom & the Aftermath

Posted on 15 Oct 2009.
Written during what I could identify as my lowest point in 2009, this entry is an excellent example of my attempt to be both honest in my writing while maintaining a positive attitude, even in the roughest of times.

Still Squigged Out

Posted on 22 Oct 2009.
Early this year there will be a Tony Buff dildo available as part of the TitanMen Tools line. The mold for these replicas was made in August of last year and this post deals with some of my personal feelings regarding the prospect of 'realistic' copies of my cock on the market.

A More Nuanced Position

Posted on 08 Nov 2009.

This post has been picked-up, quoted, re-tweeted, linked to and commented on enough to warrant its inclusion in a 'best of' list of my blog entries for 2009.Why the Fuck am I Doing This? Posted on 31 Dec 2009. I've chosen this entry because it is the post that best describes why I have chosen to continue my efforts within the adult film industry.

So that's my 'Best of: the Blog' post covering 2009.
