Released: ROUGH. Fist and Piss

1 July 2009 10:17

DirectorReleased: ROUGH. Fist and PissSeattle, WA – Yesterday, Titan Media made the second installment of our new ROUGH line of fetish/Sm features, Fist and Piss available for sale online. Although this release follows the launch of the ROUGH line with Shock Treatment, Fist and Piss was in fact the first project Paul Wild and I co-directed for the new line. While Fist and Piss will not be regarded as ’shocking’ as our first release, it continues the exploration into contemporary fetish and Sm by capturing the intensity and passions embodied by real players as they engage in the kind of activities that help define radical sexuality and queer identity. This time, as the title implies, we focus on two common kinks among those of us who play on an edge that others would call extreme: fisting and watersports.

In the first vignette (actually the first scene we documented with the cameras for the new line), I brought in my collared boy, Chris Yosef, to share some of our most intimate moments. In addition to him being my first collared boy, mine was the first fist he ever took, and he is the first boy I ever fisted (although I had bottomed to the scene before). That was nearly seven years ago and fisting, and to a lesser extent bondage and piss play, have become staples of the play that continues to bring us closer together. While the play captured on screen is intense and at times innovative (the fisting scene includes a full suspension in rope bondage), the intensity emanates from the deep connection and emotional bonds the boy and I share.

The second vignette features Chase Alters, Peter Axel, Clay Donovan and Colin Steele. While you will not find the same intimacy captured in the scene before, you will find an intensity none-the-less. It is an intensity that comes from a group of men that own their shared fetish for watersports, exhibitionism and sexual exploration. There is an essence of wild abandon that permeates the action much like the smell of urine filled the studio on the day we shot the scene.

Now, for a look into some of the action in Fist and Piss, courtesy of TitanMen.com, an excerpt from the Scene Breakdown for ROUGH. Fist and Piss and more… Read the rest of this entry »

Behind the Scenes: Shock Treatment

23 June 2009 12:29

PersonalBehind the Scenes: Shock TreatmentSan Francisco, CA – Late last week some Behind the Scenes (BTS) footage from the set of our first release in the Rough line, Shock Treatment, was posted to the TitanMen blog. The video clip captures Derek Da Silva and me chatting with Brian Mills and Paul Wilde immediately following the most intense scene we have, to date, shared on camera. In the clip, we explain what the scene involved and provide a glimpse into why we engage in this type of play. Now, for a look behind the scenes… Read the rest of this entry »

Released: ROUGH. Shock Treatment

16 June 2009 21:57

DirectorReleased: ROUGH. Shock TreatmentSeattle, WA – This has been an exciting day. Today, Titan Media lauched our new ROUGH line of fetish/Sm features with the release of Shock Treatment. Shock Treatment represents my directorial debut as a co-director with GayVN award winning videographer Paul Wilde Wilde for Titan Media.

Shock Treatment also represents the beginning of a unique series of documentary-style features that will bring extremely heavy yet responsible BDSM play to the screen and a broader audience of current and potential players. Those with an inclination to watch Shock Treatment will find some of the most electrifying examples of the kinds of scenes engaged in by the most experienced and heaviest players in the international fetish and Sm scene. They will also discover a vivid portrayal of the passions and connections shared by the players that engage in these intense extremes on the edge of pain and pleasure.

Before I continue on to all the pictures, clips and information I can share with you, I’d like to acknowledge and thank a few people. First and foremost, my personal appreciation goes out to the players that gave us a glimpse into thier moments of intimacy. My boy Derek da Silva, our pup Element from Portland together with Mitch Colby, Adam Knox and Andreas Cavalli delivered exceptional performances that truly capture the essence of this thing of ours. My thanks also go out to my friend and colleague, Paul Wilde. His technical knowledge and creative contributions have been instrumental to the production of this new line and I am grateful to be partnered with him. I am also indebted to the skill and dedication of the entire Titan team, from production crews through the editing and art departments. The talent of the individuals on these teams brought the production quality of Shock Treatment to unprecedented levels for features of this type. My deepest appreciation goes to Brian Mills for his mentorship. I can’t thank Brian enough for his encouragement, guidance and friendship. Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Keith Webb and Bruce Cam for giving me this opportunity to help create this new line of fetish/Sm features. Without their support, ROUGH would not be possible.

A Tweet-by-Tweet Review

11 June 2009 1:18

Caged'A Tweet-by-Tweet ReviewSeattle, WA – Last Sunday, I volunteered to help out with the Toasted Buns event hosted by Generic Leather Productions of Washington to benefit our titleholders’ travel fund and CLAW Nation charities. One of my boys Our current Northwest Leather Sir, Rich Bryan hosted the event. And the Dragons were there in force. We offered spanking demos and swats for a dollar while staffing the barbeque on the patio at the Cuff, our home bar here in Seattle. I’m generally the guy on the mic for these types of GLPW events, although our family tends to create spectacle and work the room which helps minimize the amount of time needed on the microphone.

Twitter helped, too. I used the social-networking/micro-blogging tool to help generate some support and excitement for the event. We held a little contest, awarding a copy of Titan Media’s latest release, Folsom Flesh to the person with the most Twitter followers that came up to me during the event. The winner was @JCTricks (pictured right) with 213 followers. To my surprise and entertainment the next day, I read JC was about to screen my scene with Will ‘the Pig’ Parker from the video.

Here’s an extended clip of the scene, courtesy of TitanMen.com and a highlight of the tweet-by-tweet review that followed… Read the rest of this entry »

Safewords

7 June 2009 14:52

PSASafewordsSeattle, WA – A couple weeks ago, an incident happened at the Grabbys. Chi Chi LaRue called me out on stage stating she was ready for her “blood scene.” Upon my arriving on stage she asked me for a safeword. I replied, on the mic, in front of the press and an audience of hundreds, “Safewords are for retarded tops.” This was immediately picked up by theSword.com, twittered and posted to thousands. By the time I got back to our table, I could clearly hear the voice of my late Daddy, Dave Lewis in my head. As I’ve mentioned before, Daddy Dave was a teacher and he was instructing me to write a five-paragraph essay explaining what I meant by that. Well, this is it…

A safeword is a communication tool generally employed in the execution of a BDSM scene. Simply put, a safeword can be used by a participant in a scene to indicate a ‘Hard Stop’ to the play. Safewords come in a variety of forms including vocalizations, gradient scaled indications and physical signals. Safewords are also employed in a variety of ways within a scene ranging from novice explorers using it as a means to avoid going too far, to more experienced players that use it as a means for the submissive to indicate that they have been pushed past their limit. There are several excellent articles and posts available about safewords that provide far more detailed information regarding the application of safewords than I can offer here in this blog. I recommend the Safeword article on Wikipedia and What is a Safeword from the Bondage FAQ, by Rob Jellinghaus for more information.

In actuality, I don’t generally play with safewords. Most of the truly heavy scenes I engage in are with partners with whom I have already developed a deep connection. We know each other and have experience together. I can use subtle visual, auditory and kinesthetic clues to understand their physical and psychological state. I read their body language, listen to what they say in addition to how they say it and carefully watch how they react to my stimulus. By using these observations to adjust my approach, I can create a pattern of positive experiences that build trust and propel a scene to a level of extreme intensity. I can take these partners to the edge of their limits, throw them over the cliff, catch them at the bottom and bring them back again all while using plain English to communicate. The key here is to remain present in the moment and actually engage with your partners. When I teach, I often use the line “Safewords are for retarded tops” to emphasize this concept with a bit of hyperbole.

In truth, I highly recommend the use of safewords and even use them myself in many situations and forms of play. For novice players and those who are unfamiliar with their own limits or their partners, safewords provide a proverbial safety-net. When I play with someone new and unfamiliar, I’ll employ a safeword if we intend to take the scene to the edge as I did with Will Parker for our scene together in Folsom Flesh. In these situations I tend to prefer the signal application of green, yellow and red. I can request a ’signal’ or simply receive a clear communication of their status if I’m not able to read it myself. I will also, on occasion, participate in a scene where the intention is to drive the submissive to safeword out.

I’m just as likely, however, to meet someone, maybe like sexy Jean-Philippe (pictured right), and never use a safeword for our play, preferring to simply talk our way through each scene and slowly build the intensity as our trust and experience together grows. This is an approach I have developed over twenty years as a bondage player. In practice, ‘yellow’ doesn’t tell a rigger what’s at issue, but if the submissive says, “I’m losing feeling in my right hand,” immediate action can be taken. This plain speak approach to play works in even the most intense and edgy scenes. Not too long ago, for example, I was introducing a friend to an advanced piercing scene. After running several rows of needles in strategic places on his body then using them a anchor points to bind him to the table with heavy string, his breathing changed and I heard, “Um, can we stop a minute?” “Sure,” I said and asked, “What’s up?” “I just realized that I’m truly fucked,” he panted referring to the fact he couldn’t get away if he wanted. After taking a few minutes to let him process the situation, our scene continued to a bloody and satisfying end.

Safewords are useful communication tools. They have an important role in many scenes for both novice and experienced players alike. Not everyone plays with safewords all the time, however. This, among several other riskier activities, is characterized as edgeplay by many in the fetish/Sm scene. Responsible players can, in many situations, use their experience, ability to read their partner and practical skills to safely negotiate a scene without the use of safewords. I’m certain, should Chi Chi and I ever engage in a blood scene together, there would be no need for a safeword. I doubt she would have any problem communicating her status and I am confident we could simply talk our way through the scene.

Who’s a Good Puppy?

25 May 2009 9:59

Smokin'Who's a Good Puppy?Chicago, IL – The Titan crew spent its Sunday working and playing at the Titan/Priapebooth in the IML Leather Market. Now don’t get me wrong, working a booth in the market is work. For me, it meant answering a lot of questions about our IML release Folsom Flesh (”No, that’s not makeup on his ass. Those are blood blisters from the paddle”) and the new Rough line of fetish/Sm features I’m co-directing with Paul Wilde for Titan (”Copper wire wrapped around each nut and hooked to a crank generator [Giggle]“). It also meant stealing away brief moments to visit with friends from around the world and recruit players.

Honestly, I love performing but I get a little uncomfortable in large crowds. I don’t generally like people I don’t know getting in my space or touching me. It makes me irritable [read: dangerous]. That’s one of the reasons I like to play. A scene is kind of like theater; an invisible fourth wall exists allowing the audience to witness while providing an understood barrier. At least until someone from se-cu-ri-ty comes to shut you down.

Luckily, I had plenty of volunteers willing to help create a scene. Since we brought in our pup Element, who appears in Shock Treatment, the soon-to-be-released second feature of the new Rough line, I figured a little Sunday afternoon puppy play was in order. Director Brian Mills (pictured above) got into the action. Now, for a clip of some of the fun we had courtesy of Titan MediaRead the rest of this entry »

Folsom Prison Wins Best Fetish Film at 2009 Grabbys

24 May 2009 10:28

ReflectiveFolsom Prison Wins Best Fetish Film at 2009 GrabbysChicago, IL – Yesterday evening I attended the 18th Annual Grabby Awards with my boys, Derek da Silva and Chris Yosef and our pup, Element (pictured right). We joined director Brian Mills and my fellow Titan exclusives Dean Flynn and Will Parker at the studio table and helped collect three Grabby honors. The first was Folsom Prison’s Grabby for Best Fetish Video. This was a particular honor because I helped co-write Folsom Prison with Brian Mills and Diesel Washington and it was my first opportunity to help direct the scenes in which I performed. Titan Media also earned a Grabby for Best Art Direction with Funhouse and Dean Flynn took home Lucite as the Grabby’s Best Versatile Performer of 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Bound, Beaten and Tickled – Playing at the IML Leather Market

23 May 2009 17:31

RiggingReleased: Folsom FleshChicago, IL – Today at the IML Leather Market, I joined Titan exclusive and friend, Dean Flynn with my boys Derek da Silva and Chris Yosef and our pup, Element to work the Titan/Priape booth. I also got an opportunity to play with Will Parker, my scene partner in the TitanMen release, Folsom Flesh. Impromptu rope bondage, Tomcat flogging/whipping and male bonding is a great way to start-off a day of work and play. As you can tell from the video clip below, the chemistry between Will ‘the Pig’ Parker and I is as strong now as it was when we shot our scene for our TitanMen/Folsom Street Events co-branded release for IML in association with Priape.com. Released: Folsom Flesh

22 May 2009 21:06

CagedReleased: Folsom FleshChicago, IL – Today at the IML Leather Market, Titan Media released Folsom Flesh in association with Priape. Folsom Flesh is the sixth in the series of co-branded Folsom films and exclusive leather/fetish films of the Folsom Street Fair. Yes, that’s me on the cover with my scene partner, Will Parker. As I’ve written before, I’ve seen our scene, which opens the film and it is one of the most stunning depictions of hardcore fetish/Sm ever captured on screen. I was at ShibariCon with my boy Derek da Silva and our pup Element and haven’t had a chance to see the reactions from the crowd watching the extended trailer at the Titan/Priape booth yet. But judging by the reports I’ve received from director Brian Mills, the facial expressions and comments would indicate agreement.
